4-goal haul delights Oshoala

Asisat-OshoalaIn-form Super Falconets midfielder Asisat Oshoala has expressed delight with her goal scoring form after hitting four goals in Nigeria’s 6-2 win over Korea DPR in their Semi Final game on Wednesday.

Oshoala took her tally in the tournament to seven goals, with four well taken goals against the overwhelmed Koreans.

And she says she’s proud to have scored as many goals as she has. “I’m so happy with my scoring record so far in this tournament and I’m very happy they are propelling us towards the trophy.Asisat-Oshoala

“It’s always very nice when you score goals and your team wins, that is the greatest feeling in football and we hope to do it one more time in the final,” she said

And truly, they must do it one more time if they are to win the tournament for the first time and also become the first African side to do so.

The Rivers Angel, who is naturally a holding midfielder has been given a much more attacking role in Peter Dedevbo’s side and has repaid the faith with goals.

Prior to the game against Korea DPR she said that she wasn’t under pressure to keep scoring, but admits that it might be slightly different now as people now expect her to deliver the goods.

“I don’t always play under pressure and I said that before our game against Korea. But I guess now everybody is expecting a lot from me especially as we have qualified to the final,” she admits.

“Maybe I need to score the most important goals in the final so we can win the cup,” she posited.

Nigeria will play Germany in the final this weekend.
