
Confirmed reports say 46 persons were killed, while 45 were injured the explosions which occurred mid afternoon.
An eye witness told bishopeddie.blogspot.com that the explosion occurred on the very busy Ahmadu Bello way.
“The explosions occurred 30 minutes apart; the first about 3pm and the second about 3:30pm,” a Jos resident who spoke on condition of anonymity told our blog
Men of the fire service, who responded to distress calls to fight inferno resulting from the explosion, positioned far away from the market over fears that more bombs could have been planted in the market.
The injured are being evacuated to the Jos University Teaching Hospital and the Plateau Specialist Hospital, Jos.
Officials of NEMA, Police, Operation Rainbow and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps are reported to be battling frantically to rescue the victims.
